Prison island tour
I offer Prison island tour from any place in Zanzibar with good services and hospitality for the cheapest price - this is a daily day trip. On this trip you will see the big giant tortoise, peacocks, and antelopes. You can visit Prıson house [old house] - also you wıll have a good time to stay on the beautiful beach and swimm around the island in the blue sea. Prison island is one among historical island in the world but not all peoples know about this island. The island was purchased by the first British minister of Zanzibar with a initial intention of building a prison house there. The name Prison island was originated from initial planning to start a prison,; so actually it was used for a short time in the 1860s as a Prison rebellious slaves and a coral mine but not as aprison. The institute was actually built on this island to become a quarantine center for yellow fever and others zoonotic diseases [pandemics]. The origin of the overflowing tortoise in this island dates 1919 when the British governor of the Seychelles sent the gift of 4 Aldabra giant tortoises, so recently it is used as popular holiday destination. Jonzani forest also is known as Chwaka bay national park. This tour we should walk by foot on a nature trail with eucalyptus and mahogany trees - around the forest with the tourguide -halfday tour. Jonzani forest is the home of red colobus monkeys. They can not be seen anywhere else around the world - only on Zanzibar you can see them. But also you will have the chance to see others animals - such as birds, insects, bushbaby in trees and reptiles. And some trees found in this forest the local peoples they use as a medicine [local medicine] and they use some trees to build houses and make timber. One side of this forest is located at the Indian ocean - that's Mangrove. It grows so we have mangrove boardwalk to takes you above the swamp where - depending on the tide - you can see Indian ocean and some tropical fish flitting between the mangrove roots and crabs scuttling across the mud.

So we can start this trip from stone town about 5 pm till the sun goes down. Then we can see the beautiful panorama view of stone town, but this trip can only be made on special days, depending on the tide, that will allow us to craw with a boat between the mangrove trees, where we can see nice sunset and beautiful birds. They fly around at the nice green scenery that attract thousands of birds to stay on. Also sometimes we can find variety of animals, such as crabs and jumping fishes.
